Last night Alicia Quarles, the E! News New York correspondent hosted the #wearnewyork launch party and fashion show presentation at 393 Broadway. The fashion event was the culmination of Wear New York Week, created by Michael Lavalle CEO of Gojee, and Tim Morehouse, Olympic Fencing Silver medalist, to celebrate and New York based fashion brands, particularly up and coming designers. Over 40 designers were said to have participated in the week long event. At least eleven designers presented womenswear, menswear, lingerie, and handbags during the inaugural party.
Some of the brands that showcased pieces were Torregrossa, Angela Friedman,Kordal, FYI by Dani Read, Lola Haze,Raquelle., Vaute, Jia, {EM} Resevoir, Only Hearts, Oliver Green, Kristi Vosbeck andMarylai. Designers took turns using two small stages erected in the venue to present their latest creations. Between two to eight models per collection posed on stage for a few minutes at a time as guest snapped pictures, conducted interviews, exchanged business cards and admired the scene.
One of the notable guests in attendance wasMiss New York City 2013 Acacia Courtney. Beverages were sponsored by Ciroc. Gojee is an online portal that allows its members to learn about and shop for luxury clothing, shoes, handbags, jewelry, home furnishings, food and drinks.
